Denver weather: High hits 90 degrees for first time in 2019, with more 90-degree days on the way

Denver’s weather hit 90 degrees Wednesday, the first such reading in 2019.

The city reached 90 degrees at 2:25 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, on the 177th day of the year. The last time Denver topped 90 degrees was Sept. 18, when the temperature hit 91 degrees.

The daily high temperature of 90 or better in Denver is expected to stick around for a few days.

On Thursday, Denver’s skies are expected to be sunny in the morning with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, according to the weather service. The high temperature Thursday in the city is expected to be 94 degrees.

Friday’s weather in Denver should be sunny with a high temperature of 96 degrees, the weather service said. Saturday should be sunny in the morning, then a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms as the high climbs to 94 degrees.

Sunday’s forecast high is 89 degrees in Denver. Monday’s weather should cool off, with a high temperature of 83 degrees.
