If you’re headed to Rocky Mountain National Park, you might want to turn back. You might want to rethink your plans if you were considering going this weekend, too, because itap busy up there.

Officials at the park tweeted this afternoon that traffic at the Beaver Meadows entrance was backed up for a mile and parking restrictions were in effect on Bear Lake Road and Wild Basin. The parking lot at the Alpine Visitor Center on Trail Ridge Road also was reported full.

If you’re still committed to going, try taking the Hiker Shuttle from the Estes Park Visitor Center. You can leave your car at the Estes Park , which you can reach by Highway 36, or at the Estes Park Event Center before hopping on the Shiver Shuttle to the visitor center.
