One person died Wednesday evening in a traffic crash on U.S. 285 south of Conifer, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
One life has been lost, and others severely impacted by the crash we are working south of Conifer on US 285. Evidence strewn across all lanes of the highway. Mapping and clean-up will be extensive. Avoid the Richmond Hill area if possible. No good alternate routes.

The three-vehicle crash happened about 5 p.m. in the Richmond Hill area, said Trooper Gary Cutler.
One person died, one person was flown by helicopter to a hospital, and two others were taken by ambulance to the hospital, Cutler said.
Both directions of the busy highway were shut down by the crash, with northbound lanes reopening about 9 p.m., Cutler said.
All three vehicles involved in the crash were Toyota Tacoma pickups. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
