Cheraw easily put away La Veta by a score of 50-0 on Friday, Sept. 20.
Cheraw quarterback Trey Pearce led the aerial attack with 150 yards through the air, throwing two touchdowns and one interception. Pearce also added one touchdown on the ground. Micah Reece lead all Cheraw receivers with four catches for 94 yards and one score.
Simon Rodriguez paced all Cheraw rushers with 134 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, averaging 12.2 yards per carry. Rodriguez also tacked on 36 receiving yards. Braeden Harris added 92 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, averaging 11.5 yards per carry, as well as 20 receiving yards and one touchdown.
La Veta’s rushing attack was paced by Zamir Holguin who racked up 34 yards in the game. Holguin also tacked on 39 receiving yards.
In their next games, La Veta will stay home and play Branson/Kim, while Cheraw will travel to play Kit Carson.
