Liberty couldn’t quite keep up with a strong Grand Junction squad, losing by a score of 42-14 on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Carson Loveridge lead all Grand Junction rushers with 161 yards and three touchdowns in the game, averaging 6.4 yards per carry.
Liberty quarterback Daucin Dvorsky led the passing attack with 123 yards through the air. Dvorsky also added one touchdown on the ground. Mussa Pene was also Liberty’s leading receiver on the day.
Pene spearheaded the Liberty ground game by gaining 86 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 21.5 yards per carry. Pene also tacked on 56 receiving yards.
Looking ahead to their next games, Grand Junction will stay home and play Fruita Monument, while Liberty will travel to play Heritage.
