More fog and drizzle are expected early Wednesday in Denver and in the plains, making way for sunny skies later in the day, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast in Denver calls for a high of 69 degrees and a low of 40, with winds up to 8 mph. A Red Flag warning is still in effect for the mountains and high valleys with conditions conducive to wildfires spreading, so the National Weather Service of Boulder reminds people not to have open fires. These conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend, forecasters predicted.
Red Flag Warnings for the mountains and high valleys – no open burning! Over the foothills & plains, morning fog (use caution traveling) and light drizzle will give way to sunshine for afternoon. Chilly night ahead with areas of frost over the plains.

Gusty winds up to 40 mph and low humidity is contributing to the increased fire danger, which will likely decrease by sunset in the mountains and high valleys, according to the weather service’s hazardous weather outlook for northeast and north central Colorado.
The first frost of the season is expected in the plains with temperatures dropping to 32-36 degrees, the outlook stated. Denver and Boulder are expected to be slightly warmer with frost possible in low-lying areas.
Temperatures in Denver during the daytime are expected to go up Thursday and Friday and back down this weekend, with mostly sunny skies expected.
