Broomfield handed Monarch a loss in a 34-14 showdown on Friday, Sept. 27.
Zachary Kapushion led Broomfield’s passing attack with 70 yards through the air. Kapushion’s most prolific receiver in the ballgame was Jaden Solano, who caught one pass for 44 yards.
Caden Peters spearheaded the Broomfield rushing attack by running for 225 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 9 yards per carry. Trey Ortega added 85 yards on the ground, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Stephen Rushford contributed 56 yards , averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
Monarch quarterback Kyle Gordon led the passing attack with 50 yards through the air. Monarch’s leading receiver was Aj Tennessen, who caught two passes for 30 yards.
Keiran Singh spearheaded the Monarch rushing attack by running for 123 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 6.8 yards per carry.
Monarch will play host to Gateway, while Broomfield will travel to play Fort Collins.
