Conifer won by a single touchdown in their 35-28 win over Fort Morgan on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Jefferson County Stadium Trailblazer.

J.R. Hart powered Conifer’s passing attack with 254 yards through the air, throwing three touchdowns and one interception. Sam Horneck lead all Conifer receivers with five receptions for 113 yards and two scores.

Noah Wagner spearheaded the Conifer rushing attack by gaining 181 yards and two touchdowns in the contest, averaging 10.1 yards per carry. Wagner also tacked on 75 receiving yards. Sam Dunivan added 66 yards on the ground, averaging 9.4 yards per carry, as well as 44 receiving yards.

Briggs Wheatley led Fort Morgan’s passing attack with 163 yards through the air. Wheatley also added 159 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Fort Morgan’s leading receiver was Jacob Ortega, who caught five passes for 73 yards.

In addition to Wheatley’s effort, Frank Ortega paced the Fort Morgan rushing attack by accumulating 13 yards in the contest.

Fort Morgan will play host to Northfield, while Conifer will travel to play Skyview.
