Hotchkiss easily put away Steamboat Springs by a score of 41-6 on Friday, Sept. 27.
Yahir Chavez powered Hotchkiss’ passing attack with 60 yards through the air. Chavez also added 50 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Hotchkiss’ leading receiver was Jacob Palecki, who caught one pass for 34 yards.
Hotchkiss’ rushing attack was spearheaded by Jace Peebles who racked up 176 yards and two touchdowns in the game, averaging 6.1 yards per carry. Traycer Hall added 63 yards and one touchdown on the ground, averaging 12.6 yards per carry.
Finn Russell lead the Steamboat Springs rushing attack by running for 53 yards in the game, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.
Both teams will stay at home in their next contest, with Hotchkiss hosting Paonia and Steamboat Springs taking on Palisade.
