Zuni narrowly lost to Montezuma-Cortez in a 28-26 game on Friday, Sept. 27.
Montezuma-Cortez quarterback Ty Blackmer led the passing attack with 159 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and five interceptions. Montezuma-Cortez’s leading receiver was Vallentino Rodriguez, who caught two passes for 58 yards.
Jacob Schuster spearheaded the Montezuma-Cortez ground game by running for 179 yards and three touchdowns in the contest, averaging 12.8 yards per carry.
