Conifer earned a win when they defeated Green Mountain 48-34 on Friday, Oct. 11 at Trailblazer.

J.R. Hart powered Conifer’s passing attack with 391 yards through the air, tossing five touchdowns and three interceptions. Conifer’s leading receiver was Sam Horneck, who caught six passes for 194 yards and three scores. Stephen Douglas contributed in the passing game as well, hauling in five balls for 105 yards.

Conifer’s ground attack was paced by Sam Dunivan who racked up 70 yards and one touchdown in the contest, averaging 11.7 yards per carry. Dunivan also tacked on 72 receiving yards and one touchdown. Noah Wagner added 67 yards on the ground.

Trey Towndrow led Green Mountain’s passing attack with 221 yards through the air, throwing one touchdown and three interceptions. Towndrow also added 123 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Trey Corkin lead all Green Mountain receivers with nine receptions for 97 yards. Allen Ortiz got involved in the passing game as well, reeling in three passes for 51 yards and one touchdown.

In addition to Towndrow’s effort, Jacob Chavez lead the Green Mountain rushing attack by running for 83 yards and one touchdown in the game, averaging 8.3 yards per carry. Chavez also tacked on 42 receiving yards.

In their next games, Conifer will stay home and play Kennedy, while Green Mountain will travel to play George Washington.
