A cadet has been dismissed from the Air Force Academy in connection with cocaine use and distribution of the drug, service officials said in a news release.
Cadet 2nd Class Harry T. Vaughn pleaded guilty to “making false official statements to law enforcement about his purchase and use of cocaine … and distribution of cocaine,” according to an Air Force Academy news release.
A military judge on Thursday accepted a guilty plea from Vaughn, and on Friday a panel of eight officers sentenced the former cadet to seven days of confinement, a $1,000 fine and dismissal from the Air Force.
Vaughn now has a “federal conviction on his record.”
