A climber who fell in the upper end of Clear Creek Canyon Saturday afternoon was rescued and taken to the hospital.

Part of U.S.6 was closed as crews worked to rescue the climber. The Colorado State Patrol said around 4 p.m. that the highway was re-opened and the climber was “alert, mobile” and on the way to the hospital.

Details about the extent of the person’s injuries weren’t available.

Alpine Rescue and Clear Creek fire and emergency medical crews responded to the scene.
