He runs! He licks! He rides ski lifts! He’s Bandit, Loveland Ski Area’s newest pup.

Bandit is a 5-month-old Border Collie. Dan Linden, the pup’s owner and handler, is training him to join Loveland’s ski patrol alongside his coworker, . Bandit just started his avalanche rescue training.

Rescue dogs have busy workdays. Although avalanches are rare in ski areas, these pups are often called into action by local county sheriffs to help search and rescue missions in the backcountry.

Outside of its hardworking rescue pups, Loveland is also home to Parker the Snow Dog. He’s a giant Bernese Mountain Dog who is known for rooting on the Denver Broncos and .
