A two-vehicle crash in Colorado Springs injured six people and briefly shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 Sunday morning.

The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. near the exit for West Cimarron Street, at mile marker 141. Six people were taken to hospitals with burns and other injuries, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

One vehicle was severely damaged in the crash and the second vehicle caught fire, according to the department.

The northbound interstate was closed for some time after the crash, the department said. All lanes were reopened around 11:15 a.m.
