Metro-area residents can expect a mostly cloudy two days as the countdown to Christmas Day continues.
But there will be little or no snow on the big day, according to the National Weather Service. “There maybe some snow showers moving over the urban areas but little to no accumulation,” said Lisa Kriederman, NWS meteorologist.
The temperature, which hit a high in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday will be warm again on Monday but it is expected to cool gradually through the week.
Monday is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 65 degrees and an overnight low around 35 degrees.
Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 60 and an overnight low near 31 degrees.
There is a 10% chance of showers after 5 p.m. on Christmas day. But it will be mostly sunny with a high near 50 degrees through most of the day. There is a chance of snow showers overnight when the low is expected to be 27 degrees.
There is a 20% chance of snow showers on Thursday when skies are expected to be partly sunny and the high temperature could be near 44 degrees. The overnight low is expected to be around 24 degrees.
There is a slight chance of snow showers again on Friday when the high could be near 40 degree and the overnight low near 24 degrees.
Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 44 degrees.
