Start the new year right by joining one of the more than 30 First Day Hikes at Colorado state parks

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hoping to start the new year right by hosting more than 30 First Day Hikes at state parks this Wednesday.

Various parks will be offering guided group hikes, from a historic nature walk at Chatfield State Park to a hike with views at Roxborough State Park. Depending on snow conditions, some parks may offer sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating and cross-country skiing opportunities.

The hikes are free, although you’ll stay need to pay the park’s , which can range from $4 to $10, or buy an , which can range from $14 to $120. Find a .

In 2019, more than 72,700 people participated in First Day Hikes nationally, covering more than 150,280 miles, according to the National Association of State Park Directors.
