Colorado’s in-state recruiting continues to ramp up.

On Wednesday morning, Cherry Creek High School receiver Chase Penry announced his pledge to CU for the class of 2021.

A 6-foot-1,185-pound receiver, Penry is the third player to commit to CU for the 2021 class and all of them are from in-state schools. Penry joins Palmer Ridge athlete Kaden Dudley and Vista Peak offensive lineman Braylen Nelson in the 2021 class.

All three have three-star ratings from both 247Sports.com and Rivals.com.

As a junior last season, Penry caught 54 passes for 646 yards and 10 touchdowns in helping the Bruins to a 14-0 record and the Class 5A state title. He caught 56 passes for 704 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore in 2018, as the Bruins went 12-2 and reached the 5A title game.

Penry is continuing a pipeline from Cherry Creek to CU.

This year, the Buffs signed Bruins offensive lineman Carson Lee and they are expected to add running back Jayle Stacks to the class.

Other former Bruins on the current CU roster include inside linebacker Jonathan Van Diest, outside linebacker Alec Pell, receiver Dimitri Stanley, defensive lineman Dante Sparaco, safeties Curtis Appleton and Dustin  Johnson and kicker Mac Willis.
