One of the NFL’s top running backs had some kind words for an iconic blue speedster.
and former Valor Christian star is among the athletes featured in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” ad that will be shown during LIV on Sunday.
“I’ve studied the best spin moves. His? Legendary,” McCaffrey says in the commercial.
He adds, “That dude? He knows it’s all about the rings,” a reference to the rings Sonic collects in his video game series.
Later, he asks the digitally animated Sonic, “What’s this for again?”
Sonic responds, “Great question. I have no idea. But please, McCaffrey, go on about how amazing I am.”
McCaffrey isn’t the only one with Colorado ties in the commercial. Track star Allyson Felix also appears. The sprinter lived in the Centennial State for three years where at Prairie Middle School in Aurora.
New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas and NASCAR driver Kyle Busch also appear.
The San Francisco 49ers take on the in Super Bowl LIV at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
