Seven-vehicle crash in Castle Rock traps people under semi-truck

A semi-truck crashed into six vehicles near Interstate 25 along Founders Parkway in Castle Rock Sunday, pushing two vehicles down a hill into a liquor store and trapping an several people under the truck, according to the Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m., Cpl. Ivan Alvarado said.

William Evans, 49, of Castle Rock, the driver of one of the vehicles pushed down an embankment, was extricated and sustained life-threatening injuries, CSP said in a press release Sunday night. Eight occupants in seven cars were transported to hospitals with injuries, the release said.
