Bitter cold is an understatement for how the air felt at Antero Reservoir in Park County Wednesday morning when temperatures plummeted to minus 43 degrees.

The temperature reading was the coldest official recording Wednesday morning by the National Weather Service in Boulder. Antero Reservoir sits at 8,920 feet.

But it was very cold in many other locations in the region following a snowstorm Monday and Tuesday that brought frigid temperatures.

Here are 10 other regional locations where extremely cold temperatures were recorded Monday morning:

  • U.S. 40 at Fraser Flats:  minus 31.
  • Southwest Jefferson: minus 29.
  • Northwest Cowdrey: minus 25.
  • South Rabbit Ears Pass: minus 23.
  • Kenosha Pass: minus 23.
  • About a mile west of Colorado 9 in Silverthorne:  minus 23
  • U.S. 40 at Red Dirt Hill:  minus 23
  • North of Granby: minus 23
  • Vail Pass: minus 21
  • Southeast of Rockport: minus 21
  • Keystone: minus 20
  • Livermore: minus 19
  • Cherokee Park: minus 18
  • Tabernash: minus 18
  • North Berthoud Pass: minus 16.
