U.S. 6 reopens after rockslide in Clear Creek Canyon

The road was closed for about two hours

U.S. 6 was closed in both directions through Clear Creek Canyon for about two hours Sunday due to a rockslide, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The safety closure began at about 11:35 am. and ended at about 1:30 p.m., according to CDOT.

Delays were expected after the reopening, according to CDOT. Drivers were encouraged to use Interstate 70 as an alternate route.
