Freezing drizzle and sub-freezing temperatures could disrupt the commute on Friday the 13th.
Freezing drizzle had began to move from Wyoming into northern Colorado by 6 a.m. and is expected in Denver later in the morning, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The icy conditions could turn parts of Denver roads and highways into black ice. Rain will change to snow around noon, the NWS said. There is a 70 percent chance of precipitation but total accumulation should be limited. Winds whipping up to 44 mph hour will add drama to the winter storm.
The high temperature Friday will peak at about 36 degrees, forecasters said.
Areas of light freezing drizzle falling near the Wyoming border and in/near the foothills of Boulder and Larimer Counties. A couple slick spots possible as you approach the higher elevations and locations along the Wyoming border early this AM.

And after one day of wintry weather, Denver will slowly edge toward spring-like conditions this mostly sunny weekend with temperatures rising to 54 degrees on Saturday and 60 on Sunday, the NWS said.
Temperatures are expected to top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s between Monday and Wednesday, the weather service said. There’s a slight chance of rain beginning on Monday.
