The Denver Broncos became the latest professional sports franchise to pledge money amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Broncos donated $500,000 to the Colorado COVID-19 Relief Fund announced by Gov. Jared Polis on Wednesday, the team confirmed.

Gov. Polis announced the fund during a news conference earlier in the day. The fund will assist in paying for medical supplies, volunteers, nursing home and homeless shelter staffing, cleaning supplies and helping struggling workers, families and small businesses to help “weather the storm” of coronavirus, Polis said.
