With the world of sports at a standstill amid the new coronavirus pandemic, how about a little old-school football to fill the void?
KKFM 104.3 The Fan kicks off its Gridiron Greats series on Sunday, airing 14 classic NFL games in the coming weeks. The first installment will be the 2009 NFL wild-card game between the Packers and the Cardinals, which saw a total of 96 points scored between the two teams.
Broncos fans will get a couple of blasts from the past. The good? Super Bowl XXXII where Denver earned its first championship. The not-so-good? The 2012 AFC championship game against the Ravens.
Here’s a look at the schedule:
- Sunday, April 12, 1 p.m.: Packers vs. Cardinals, 2009 NFL wild-card game
- Saturday, April 18, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl LIV — Chiefs vs. 49ers
- Sunday, April 19, 1 p.m.: Bills vs. Oilers, 1992 AFC wild-card game
- Sunday, April 26, 1 p.m.: Super Bowl XLII — Patriots vs. Giants
- Saturday, May 2, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl XXXII — Broncos vs. Packers
- Sunday, May 3, 1 p.m.: Patriots vs. Chiefs, 2018 season AFC championship
- Saturday, May 9, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl XXIII — 49ers vs. Bengals
- Sunday, May 10, 1 p.m.: Broncos vs. Ravens, 2012 AFC wild-card game
- Saturday, May 16, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl LI — Patriots vs. Falcons
- Sunday, May 17, 1 p.m.: Seahawks vs. Packers, 2014 NFC championship game
- Saturday, May 23, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl XLIII — Steelers vs. Cardinals
- Sunday, May 24, 1 p.m.: Saints vs. Vikings, 2009 NFC championship game
- Saturday, May 30, 2 p.m.: Super Bowl 1: Packers vs. Chiefs
- Sunday, May 31, 1 p.m.: Colts vs. Patriots, 2006 AFC championship game
