With the start of the Major League Baseball season postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we here at The Denver Post took a look at how the Rockies would fare in MLB The Show 20 on PlayStation 4. We will have a story for every game that had been scheduled until real-life baseball returns. Here’s a look at the virtual Rockies’ preseason preview. Entering Friday’s game, the Rockies were 17-7.

Rockies closer Scott Oberg blew his second straight save, but Trevor Story bailed the right-hander out with a walk-off single to beat the Brewers, 2-1, Friday at Coors Field.

With Charlie Blackmon on second and Nolan Arenado on first, Story sent a hard grounder off of Milwaukee reliever Ryan Suter straight up the middle into the outfield that drove in Chuck Nazty to give Colorado the victory.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie into the eighth inning until Ryan McMahon drove in Story with a single to give the Rockies a 1-0 lead.

Oberg (1-0), who was a perfect 6-for-6 until blowing a save Wednesday against the Giants, gave up a triple to Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich to lead off the top of the ninth. He forced Omar Narvaez to hit into a double play, but Yelich scored on the grounder.

Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez is still looking for his first win of the season despite pitching seven scoreless innings and lowering his earned-run average to 3.77.

With the win, Colorado maintained a 4.5-game lead over Dodgers (14-12) in the National League West. Milwaukee falls to 12-14.

The Rockies will head into Game 2 of the series with German Marquez (3-1) on the mound. The Brewers will go with Freddy Peralta (0-1). The live stream will begin at 2 p.m. MT.
