PHILADELPHIA — The Rockies’ bats had no answer for Phillies starter Zack Wheeler, who pitched a 7-1 complete game win at Citizens Bank Park.
Wheeler (4-2) gave up just two hits and one run while striking out 10 in the win.
The lone blemish was a solo homer from Colorado first baseman Daniel Murphy in the fifth inning.
Colorado starter Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-4) gave up five hits and four runs in five innings of work.
With the loss, the Rockies lead over the Dodgers (17-14) in the National League West drops to 4.5 games.
Colorado’s German Marquez (4-1) takes on Jake Arrieta (4-2) on Saturday.
