Denver weather: A sunny Mother’s Day before a slightly rainy week

Soak up the sun today, Denver, because the start of the week is looking a little rainy.

Sunday will see sunny skies, gusty winds and a high temperature of 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder, before the week gets wetter Monday and Tuesday.

There’s a 50% chance of showers Monday, with a possible afternoon thunderstorm followed by rain into the evening, according to the weather service.

Tuesday will see a chance of rain throughout the day, with a high temperature of 76 degrees and gusty winds.

By Wednesday the skies will be mostly clear, with sunshine, before the possibility of an overnight storm followed by possible rain showers Thursday. Friday will be stormy, according to the weather service, as temperatures rise into the mid-70s toward the end of the week.
