Colorado weather: Severe storms could bring hail and damaging winds on Saturday

Much of eastern Colorado is under either elevated or critical fire conditions.

Coloradans can expect to see thunderstorms on Saturday that bring large hail and damaging winds as they roll through the state, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

The storms have the potential to bring winds that reach 60  to 80 miles per hour — and even a weak tornado. The storms are expected to arrive in the mountains by early afternoon before moving to the plains,

Despite the chance for storms,  conditions are mostly expected to be hot, dry and windy. Much of eastern Colorado is under either elevated or critical fire conditions.
