LOS ANGELES — The Rockies blew a late rally Saturday, falling to the Dodgers, 9-6, at Dodger Stadium.
Colorado scored six runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-5 lead over Los Angeles, but Bryan Shaw and the Rockies bullpen allowed four runs in the seventh and eighth innings in the loss.
Rockies starter Kyle Freeland gave up four runs on nine hits in just four innings of work. Dodgers pitcher David Price gave up one run on seven hits in six innings.
Colorado (43-21) holds a six-game lead over the Dodgers (37-27) for first place in the National League West. The two teams finish off their four-game series Sunday. Chi Chi Gonzalez (2-5) takes the mound against David Price (5-4), who the Dodgers will be rolling out for a second straight start.
