The Mile High City should be plenty warm on Sunday, but afternoon thunderstorms could ruin afternoon activities.

Denverites can expect a high temperature around 88 degrees, according to the . Highs in the upper 60s and 70s are expected in the mountains and the Eastern Plains will likely reach the low 90s.

Isolated afternoon thunderstorms are possible in the northern part of the state Sunday afternoon, the weather service reported. The storms could bring strong winds up to 50 mph.

On Monday and Tuesday highs in the low 80s are expected and more storms are possible in the afternoons, . Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high near 90.
