Denver weather: Hot temperatures with a chance of showers in the metro area

It will be partly sunny with a high of 95 degrees with a chance of rain throughout the day in the Denver metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

From 10 a.m. to noon, there is slight chance of showers before a bigger chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 40%, according to the NWS.

The evening will cool off with a low of 62 and a 20% chance of rain before midnight. Winds could gust up to 22 mph.

Cooler weather arrives Tuesday with a high of 82 and a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The weather will warm back up as the week progresses with highs of 89 and 95 on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
