The clerk’s office in the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse is closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, and it’s unclear when it will reopen.
The affected employee didn’t feel well at work Monday and went to get tested for the new coronavirus, said Rob McCallum, spokesman for the Colorado Judicial Department. The other two people working in the clerk’s office were sent home to quarantine after the first employee tested positive, he said.
The office will be closed for cleaning, McCallum said. Many employees are working from home, and others were lost to layoffs, he said. Trials and other hearings will not be affected.
“We’re on a skeleton crew right now,” McCallum said. “As soon as we can safely get that office open, we will.”
People who need to visit a clerk’s office in person can go to Room 256 in the Denver City and County Building while the Lindsey-Flanigan courthouse office is cleaned and disinfected.
The affected employee interacted with 10 to 15 members of the public on Monday but wore a mask during all interactions and was separated from customers by plexiglass, McCallum said. Anyone who was close to that employee for 15 minutes or longer has been notified.
