The Colorado Rapids announced the rest of their 2020 MLS regular season Wednesday, with nine more matches added to the schedule.
In total, the Rapids have 11 matches left until Decision Day, which falls on Nov. 8, with all 11 coming against Western Conference teams, including two home matches this week — Wednesday against San Jose and Sunday against Kansas City. The Rapids will play six home games and five on the road.
Up to 1,165 fans (6% capacity) will soon be able to attend matches at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for the first time since MLS halted play March 7. The specific date for when fans will return, however, has yet to be announced. The club’s plan for hosting fans was approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health Environment last Friday.
The top eight teams in the Western Conference will advance straight to the first round of the playoffs, which has been expanded to 18 teams in 2020.
Designated player Younes Namli is not expected to play in the Rapids’ match Wednesday after he left Saturday night’s win over the L.A. Galaxy with an injury. Striker Diego Rubio missed Saturday’s game and will be a game-time decision Wednesday.
