Class 5A

1. Cherry Creek (5-0) beat Arapahoe, 56-7. The Bruins scored touchdowns in all three phases, including an Arden Walker strip sack/TD return and a blocked punt return TD, in a rout that saw the running clock triggered before halftime. Next week: at No. 5 Eaglecrest, Nov. 14

2. Valor Christian (5-0) beat No. 8 Ralston Valley, 45-7. QB Sean McNair and Landon Turnwall hooked up on touchdown passes of 34 and 37 yards, and running back Gavin Sawchuk added TD runs of 69 and eight yards. Next week: vs. Highlands Ranch, Nov. 13

3. Columbine (4-0) did not play this week. The Rebels were forced to cancel their scheduled matchup with rival Ralston Valley after a student-athlete tested positive for COVID-19. Next week: at No. 4 Pomona, Nov. 12

4. Pomona (5-0) beat Mullen, 42-21. Ian Dexter ran in a pair of touchdowns in a 42-0 first half for the Panthers. Next week: vs. No. 3 Columbine, Nov. 12

5. Eaglecrest (4-0) did not play this week. The Raptors’ scheduled game at Prairie View was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Next week: vs. No. 1 Cherry Creek, Nov. 14

6. Fairview (5-0) beat Horizon, 42-10. The Knights have now won 19 straight league games and are in great position to make the eight-team playoff bracket after entering the week at No. 2 in CHSAA’s RPI. Next week: vs. Prairie View, Nov. 13

7. Legend (5-0) beat 4A No. 3 Pine Creek, 21-20.  Kalen Shoemake threw three touchdown passes, and the Titans stayed unbeaten after a late Pine Creek extra sailed wide. Next week: at Douglas County, Nov. 12

8. Ralston Valley (3-2) lost to No. 2 Valor Christian, 45-7. Zach Friedman scored the Mustangs’ lone touchdown late in the third quarter as RV lost a nonleague matchup put together after both teams’ originally scheduled opponents had COVID-19 issues. Next week: at Arvada West, Nov. 12

9. Grandview (2-3) lost to Cherokee Trail, 28-23. Nathan Gaye ran for two touchdowns, quarterback Jayden Lavigne had a pair of scoring passes, and the Cougars knocked off the Wolves for the second straight season. Next week: vs. Fossil Ridge, Nov. 13

10. Regis Jesuit (4-1) beat Doherty, 42-10. D’Andre Barnes returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown, sparking a 35-3 first half as the Raiders cruised to victory. Next week: at 4A No. 3 Pine Creek, Nov. 14

Class 4A

1. Dakota Ridge (5-0) beat Golden, 45-3. The Eagles defense has now allowed just six points combined in its last three games — a stretch that has seen Dakota Ridge outscore opponents 144-6. Next week: at Chatfield, Nov. 13

2. Palmer Ridge (4-0) did not play this week. The Bears’ scheduled game at Fruita Monument was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Next week: vs. No. 4 Ponderosa, Nov. 12

3. Pine Creek (2-1) lost to 5A No. 7 Legend, 21-20. The Eagles scored three touchdowns in the second half to rally from a 14-0 hole, but a missed extra point ended a 13-game Pine Creek win streak dating back to last season. Next week: vs. 5A No. 10 Regis Jesuit, Nov. 14

4. Ponderosa (5-0) beat No. 10 Montrose, 21-14. A late fourth-quarter touchdown propelled the Mustangs past the Indians to set up a showdown of 4A unbeatens in Week 6. Next week: at No. 2 Palmer Ridge, Nov. 12

5. Fountain-Fort Carson (4-1) lost to Rampart, 17-14. Logan Candelaria’s short touchdown run late in the third quarter put the Rams up 17-14, and Cale Cormaney’s interception in the fourth quarter made sure it held up. Next week: vs. Mesa Ridge, Nov. 13

6. Broomfield (5-0) beat No. 9 Windsor, 17-14 (OT). Matthew Eich’s 27-yard field goal in overtime sent the Eagles to a dramatic overtime victory. Next week: vs. Erie, Nov. 13

7. Loveland (5-0) beat Longmont, 50-21. After going down 15-13, the Indians scored three straight touchdowns — one running and one throwing from Garrett Harstad, and a Zack Rakowsky run — to pull away from the Trojans. Next week: vs. No. 8 Skyline, Nov. 12

8. Skyline (5-0) beat Monarch, 35-21. The Falcons were held under 40 points for the first time all season, but still managed to win by a pair of touchdowns. Next week: at No. 7 Loveland, Nov. 12

9. Windsor (4-1) lost to No. 6 Broomfield, 17-14 (OT). After tying things up in the last minute, Windsor fumbled its opening possession in overtime, paving the way for a game-winning field goal from Matthew Eich. Next week: at Brighton, Nov. 13

10. Montrose (3-2) lost to No. 4 Ponderosa, 21-14. The Indians rallied to tie the game at 14 in the second half but ultimately fell to a 4A top-10 team for the second straight week.following last week’s loss to Palmer Ridge. Next week: vs. Grand Junction Central, Nov. 13
