A 16-year-old was shot in the leg on Sunday night by a 14-year-old family member, according to Aurora police.
Last night, officers responded to a shooting near Akron/E 12th. A 16yr old was shot in the leg & taken to hospital. Officers determined that a 14yr old family member accidentally shot 16yr old while playing with the gun. Investigation ongoing, no arrests have been made.

The shooting, which police describe as accidental, happened in the area of East 12th Avenue and Akron Street. The 16-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital.
Police said the 14-year-old was “playing with the gun” when it fired. An investigation is ongoing. No one was arrested on Sunday night.
