After the Badgers beat Wake Forest, 42-28, on Wednesday to win the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Wednesday, the team celebrated in the locker room. Maybe a tad too hard.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Graham Mertz, who led the way with three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing), danced in a circle with his teammates with the trophy in his hand. And then it slipped, crashing to the ground and shattering into countless pieces.
