Lakewood police apprehended a suspect in a Colfax motel shooting in Castle Rock.
Julian Joel Rivera, 34, is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 29-year-old Geronimo Alvarado, according to a news release from the Lakewood Police Department.

Julian Joel Rivera (DOB: 8/23/86)Police found Alvarado suffering from gunshot wounds after being called at 2:43 a.m. Tuesday to the Blue Sky Motel on the 6200 block of West Colfax Avenue. Alvarado later died from the injuries, the news release said.
Rivera was taken into custody Tuesday night. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
