The accolades keep raining down upon Nikola Jokic.
The Nuggets’ all-star center on Tuesday was named the NBA Western Conference player of the month for December and January, a day after winning his second straight player of the week award.
On the season, he’s averaging 26.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 8.6 assists and 1.75 steals in 20 games. It is his first player of the month award and the first by a Nuggets player since Carmelo Anthony in November 2009.
He’s also recorded a double-double in each of the first 20 games, becoming the second player since 1976 to accomplish the feat. Bill Walton had a double-double through each of the first 34 games of the 1976-77 season for Portland.
Jokic is the fourth Denver player to win the award, joining Anthony (three times), Alex English (three) and Fat Lever (once).
