Morning fog on Wednesday will bring a chance of flurries before noon. According to the National Weather Service, the high will only reach 33 in Denver, and the low will plunge to 14 degrees.
Thursday will be more of the same, with morning fog making way for a cloudy and chilly 39-degree day. Fog will come back late in the evening when the low will sink down to 12 degrees.
Periods of light snow are possible within the next few days, but Friday is the best chance for any significant accumulation. The high will only reach 26 degrees, and the low will rise just above zero at 3 degrees.
The same pattern and bitter cold will last through the weekend, where temperatures in Denver may dip below zero.
The coldest temperature of the season thus far was 4 degrees in October. While possible, Denver’s all-time coldest low of 29-below zero recorded in January of 1875 is unlikely to occur.
Denver hit 5-below zero or colder in each of the last two years, though multiple days in a row below zero are a bit uncommon.
