Denver cartoonist Karl Christian Krumpholz arrived at Pete’s Satire Lounge, 1920 E. Colfax Ave., at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 29, for a photo shoot for a .
What happened between that time and the actual photo shoot shocked him and left him rattled. Krumpholz, a chronicler of Denver’s urban environment, and seasoned Denver Post photographer AAron Ontiveroz were both attacked by a random man who attempted to stab both of them.

The portraits Ontiveroz shot that day ran in print today with (published April 10 by Denver’s Tinto Press). But the comic based on the incident has been published in installments online as part of his daily “Lighthouse in the City” series, and Krumpholz has graciously allowed us to run them.
