All aboard! After being closed for more than three years, the is reopening to the public this summer.

The nine-mile route takes passengers to the top of Pikes Peak. Big windows on the cog allow for 360 scenic views of Ruxton Creek in Englemann Canyon, Minnehaha Falls and Deer Park before traveling through the Mountain View siding where you get your first glimpse of the summit.

Rides for the general public begin May 27 with five departures a day. range from $48 for children to $68 for adults with reserved seats on the train. From top to bottom, the journey takes about three hours.

This June will mark the 130th anniversary of the world’s highest cog railway train, going up 7,600 feet of vertical gain to the 14,115 foot summit of Pikes Peak.
