Ex-Jets head coach Rex Ryan has seemingly changed his mind about the team’s current head coach.

A week after Ryan Robert Saleh for his managing of the Jets defense, Ryan was all smiles when about him on ESPN Sunday morning.

“I gotta tell you something. I was blown away by the guy. It reminded me when I had some differences with Tony Dungey,” Ryan said on the world wide network. “I reached out to him, talked to him and I was blown away. I thought he was super smart and he’s got a direction for this football team.

“I’m telling you, Jet fans, I mean the more I talked to him, the more I was impressed with Robert Saleh,” Ryan continued. “Like I became of fan of his. And it’s number one, taking my call and all that speaks volumes about him, but it was way more about we put that stuff behind us. It’s about the future of this team. And I’m just telling you something: this guy’s got a great plan and I think [the Jets] got it right.”

The narrative was a complete 180 of when Ryan demanded to never be compared to Saleh and took those comparisons personally on ESPN Radio.

Saleh’s Jets, who were 2-7 as of Sunday morning, the Dolphins at MetLife Stadium at 1 p.m.
