Amy Schneider’s historic 40-game winning streak on “Jeopardy!” ended Wednesday when she lost to Chicago multimedia librarian Rhone Talsma. A day later, Talsma was ousted by Coloradan Carrie Cadwallader, who won $7,500 on Thursday’s edition.
Cadwallader held a near $4,000 lead going into Final Jeopardy, but none of the three contestants was able to answer the question correctly. It was: “In 1793, he left Dublin for the United States, saying, ‘I expect to make a fortune’ off George Washington, & he did.” The answer was Gilbert Stuart, an American painter.
Nonetheless, Cadwallader held on for the win.
Cadwallader, 45, is a native of Eaton who now lives in Aurora and works for Charles Schwab. She went to Metro State University in Denver, according to her LinkedIn page.
Cadwallader said in a Facebook post that she had been trying for years to get on the show.
My work team sent me this.
Yeah, I cried a little.— CL Cadwallader (@CLCadwallader)
