
Enjoy the sunny skies and seasonably warm, pleasant weather this afternoon because snow is back in the weather forecast overnight Sunday.
The high temperature in Denver will hit about 60 degrees on Saturday, with a high near 66 on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Skies will be sunny on Saturday and partly sunny on Sunday as a storm system moves in bringing a good chance of widespread precipitation to the metro area.
Rain is expected, a 70% chance, at about 1 a.m. Monday in Denver and it will likely mix with snow at about 4 a.m., according to the weather service. New snow accumulation will be less than an inch, with winds gusting to 21 mph and a low temperature of about 31 degrees.
During the day Monday in Denver, snow is likely, an 80% chance, before 1 p.m. and the high temperature will climb to around 40 degrees, the weather service said. Winds will be breezy out of the north with gusts up to 25 mph.
There’s “considerable uncertainty” in the forecast but the southern foothills and the Palmer Divide could get 3 to 6 inches of snowfall late Sunday night into Monday morning, according to the weather service. The Eastern Plains have a lower probability for precipitation, however, the forecast could change.
On Tuesday in Denver there’s a 30% chance for snow after 1 p.m., skies will be partly sunny and the high will top out near 45 degrees. On Wednesday in the city there’s a slight chance for snow before 7 a.m., skies will be mostly sunny as the system moves out and the high hits near 48 degrees.
