A 3-year-old boy in Denver is in critical condition after accidentally shooting himself Sunday evening, according to police.
The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. Sunday in a vehicle in the 1700 block of South Pecos Street, Denver police tweeted.
“…It appears the shooting was accidental and self-inflicted,” police wrote.
There have been no arrests in relation to the shooting, authorities said.
The incident marks at least the second time in a week that a child in Colorado has accidentally fired a weapon on themselves.
A 6-year-old boy in Fort Collins last week died after shooting himself by mistake, police said.
UPDATE: … and that it occurred in a vehicle in the 1700 block of S. Pecos St. The child remains in critical condition. The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing, and there has not been an arrest, at this time. 2/2
