Denver weather: Red flag conditions coming Wednesday with temperatures almost to 90s

A red flag warning is in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today across the Denver area, eastern plains, foothills and northern mountains

A red flag warning is in effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday due to low humidity and strong winds reaching 15 to 20 mph with 31 mph gusts, the National Weather Service said.

The warning is in place across the Denver area, eastern plains, foothills and northern mountains.

Wednesday’s weather is expected to reach a high of 89 degrees under sunny skies. The low will be about 54 degrees. It will be cooler on Thursday with a high of 76 degrees.

Thursday’s weather has triggered a fire weather watch, with winds between 20 and 25 mph, gusting as high as 38 mph, the weather service said.

Sunny and warm weather is expected to continue through the week, with Friday reaching 78 degrees, and temperatures in the mid-80s over the weekend.
