Warm sunny weather will be followed by a slight chance of showers on Wednesday afternoon in Denver, the National Weather Service said.

Winds are expected to reach between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts up to 16 mph, as the high rises to 81 degrees.

Thunderstorms are expected in the southern Colorado, bringing lighting, gusty winds, hail and rain to the region through the afternoon, the weather service said.

Thursday is expected to reach a high of 88 degrees under sunny skies, with winds reaching 8 to 16 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph. The weather is bringing about a fire weather watch warning from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., the weather service said.

The temperature is expected to drop drastically to a high of 49 degrees on Friday, with rain coming to the region. Overnight temperatures Friday are expected to fall to 32 degrees and bring snow showers through Saturday.
