Thunderstorms in the afternoons and evenings could interrupt the warm and sunny days expected this weekend in Denver.
Temperatures on Saturday are expected to hit a high of 85 degrees, but forecasters with the National Weather Service in Boulder predicted a 10% chance of rain and storms between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday’s weather is expected to be similar. A warm and partly sunny day could give way to a 20% chance of thunderstorms beginning at 1 p.m., according to the weather service.
For those headed into the mountains, expect similar chances of storms and slightly cooler temperatures. Highs in Frisco and in Estes Park are expected to be in the low 70s throughout the weekend, with chances for afternoon storms.
Towns on Colorado’s eastern border could experience stronger storms Saturday afternoon between 3 and 7. The storms could bring hail and winds up to 60 mph, .
