A teen was found with a fatal gunshot wound in a Brighton park on Tuesday night, a death that police say is a homicide.
Officers were called to Ken Mitchell Park after receiving a report of a man who’d been shot and was unresponsive.
Police arrived on the scene sometime after 9:30 p.m. and found a 17-year-old male with a fatal gunshot wound, Brighton police said.
According to a news release from the Brighton Police Department, “witnesses reported hearing an argument between the victim and an unknown suspect before hearing gunfire.”
The Adams County Coroner’s Office has not released the victim’s identity.
Police say that a suspect is yet to be identified and ask that people living near Ken Mitchell Park check their video surveillance systems for any footage that may help detectives with the investigation.
